WHAT IS ALUMINUM CURTAIN WALL

Curtain wall systems clad a building envelope with glass and aluminum to protect the interior from the elements and creates a safe and comfortable work environment for the building occupants. Curtain walls are designed to only carry their own weight. The wall transfers wind loads to the main building structure, also known as the main wind force resisting system (MWFRS), at connection points in the floors or columns of the building. A curtain wall is designed to resist air and water infiltration, as well as, sway created by wind and seismic forces, and its own weight.
Curtain walls may span from floor to floor, used in punched opening applications, or span multiple floors, and take into consideration design requirements such as: thermal expansion and contraction; building sway and movement; water diversion; and thermal efficiency for cost-effective heating, cooling, and lighting in the building.
Our curtain wall systems are available with; inside, outside or structurally glazed options. Our stick built, unitized, and cassette (carrier frame) system options are available with many site lines and mullion depths allowing you to control cost by selecting the ideal mullion depth for your opening size and design pressure requirements. Optional face covers expand design flexibility.

PRODUCT OPERATE GUIDE

1) Construction preparation
1. Material
(1) The specifications, models and processing quality of aluminum alloy profiles, glass and accessories of the curtain wall must meet the design requirements.
(2) Anti-corrosion materials, sealing materials, caulking materials, protective materials, cleaning materials, etc. must meet the design requirements and relevant standards.
2. operating conditions
(1) There must be a specific construction plan for the curtain wall formulated according to the design drawings, technical requirements and site conditions.
(2) The construction of the structures related to the curtain wall should be completed; the grid suitable for the installation of the curtain wall should be erected; and there should be a reference line for the installation of the curtain wall.
(3) Measure the actual size of the building structure related to the curtain wall, check the position of the embedded parts by setting out the wires, and deal with the unsuitable structures and embedded parts.
(4) Check and check the iron parts for installation, and deal with any problems found in time.
(5) Check the aluminum alloy curtain wall components, and install the defective ones only after they are repaired and qualified.
(2) Operation process
1. Connection between iron parts and building structure
(1) The connecting iron parts are pre-embedded and fixed on the embedded parts according to the correct position. If it is connected by electric welding, only two to three welding spots are temporarily spot-welded.
(2) If there are no embedded parts in the building structure, expansion bolts can be used to connect the iron parts and the structure. The use of expansion bolts can refer to the YBJ-204-83 standard.
2. Installation, adjustment and fastening of curtain wall
(1) Assemble the curtain wall components in place. During this process, it should be installed while adjusting according to the curtain wall installation reference line to make it reach the correct installation position, and then make temporary fixes.
(2) After all the curtain walls are in place, an overall inspection should be carried out, and final adjustments should be made to some unsuitable places, so that the installation position of the entire curtain wall can meet the design requirements.
(3) Formally weld the temporary welded parts, tighten the connecting bolts, and spot-weld the bolts without anti-loosening measures.
(4) All welds should be cleaned and treated for rust prevention.
3. Matters needing attention when closing the curtain wall

4. Curtain Wall Expansion Joints
Curtain wall expansion joints must meet the design requirements. If the expansion joints are filled with sealant, care should be taken not to let the sealant contact the main lining core when filling the glue, so as to prevent the glue joint from being damaged during the expansion and contraction of the curtain wall.
5. glass installation
(1) Before the curtain wall glass is installed, the wet work and other projects near it must be completed.
(2) The curtain wall glass and the frame must be elastically connected, and the size, position and quantity of the glass bottom pads must meet the design requirements.
(3) When installing glass, the orientation of the glass surface must meet the design requirements.
(4) Pretreatment should be done on the glued surface before filling: clean off the dust and oil stains on the block, then wipe it with clean cotton gauze dipped in detergent, and fill the sealant after drying.
(5) The sealant filling should be injected evenly. When the sealant is squeezed and filled, the depth of the glue seam is greater than or equal to 5mm, and the excess glue outside the glue seam should be cleaned in time.
6. opening window on curtain wall
According to the design requirements, install the open window at the specified position on the curtain wall. The gap between the four sides of the window frame and the lattice structure of the curtain wall is even, and the inside and outside of the window frame should be filled with sealant.
7. clean
Cleaning is carried out at the same time as installing the glass, and the last check should be made before removing the grid to ensure the quality of the glue joint and the cleanliness of the curtain wall surface.
8. Finished product protection
(1) A protective film is required on the surface of the aluminum alloy curtain wall material. Be careful not to scratch the surface when removing the protective film.
(2) Aluminum alloy curtain wall components should be stored in a well-ventilated, non-corrosive environment. The bottom should be padded with sleepers to a height greater than or equal to 100mm, padded flat, and stacked neatly to prevent deformation.
(3) During the construction process, if cement slurry is accidentally splashed, it should be cleaned up in time.
(4) During construction and transportation, it is strictly forbidden to rub, smash, drop aluminum alloy curtain wall materials and trample on the curtain wall structure.
